Teenagers, trouble about to happen!

Teenagers are so complex these days. Mine is always about fashion, and she thinks she knows it all! Even though she is beginning to realize that mom knows best and that we were in their same shoes. I guess in some ways my mother always told me that someday it would come back around to me. It always seems as if my headaches are getting bigger daily. My daughter has a friend that has a boyfriend and he is always calling my daughter instead of his girlfriend! Why? I guess its because her friend is forbidden to see or talk to this boy and so she secretly thinks she is having a love affair at school behind her parents back. Then there are her other friends that take confidence in talking to me about their problems that they think that their own parents can't handle! I guess I have to be grateful about one aspect that my own daughter will confide in me for now, but I expect that to change someday. We all were young once thinking our parents didn't know anything about anything but, does that still mean we don't love or care about them? Why is the big thing now a days where any teenager gets into trouble or have put their self in a bad position and don't tell anyone about it. They begin to cut themselves? Don't worry my daughter doesn't do this. I don't know if it is the "in" thing to do. Do they think it makes them to be liked more, cool to brag about, or what? Teenagers are more complex then what we were. Talk to your teenager find out more about their interests instead of just questioning them all the time. They will begin to open up more and more to you! You will thank yourself that you did! Kids do grow up and if you don't try to understand their growing process, you will be in the dark of their life! Talking to my daughter helps her out, plus she does tell me concerns about her friends as well. I guess that's why her friends do confide so much in me. I am on their level. You can't learn anything about them unless you are on their level! What works with your teenager? What doesn't? How do you deal with all the headache? Teenagers we all love them cause we were one of them once.
